Nobody can spare a morning sitting in a waiting room. Erdi collects your car or van from home, work or the yard, carries out the work, and brings it back to you.
The short answer
If your vehicle runs and drives, collection and delivery is free within 5 miles of the workshop at Millbrook Depot, near Shepton Mallet — that covers Shepton Mallet itself, Oakhill, Binegar, Croscombe, Evercreech and the villages around them.
Further out and still running and driving — Wells, Frome, Glastonbury, Bristol, Bath — call or text your postcode and Erdi will price the trip before you commit to anything. It is never added to the bill afterwards.
If it will not drive at all, it needs recovering rather than collecting. Erdi is a mechanic, not a recovery operator — tell him on the phone and he will point you at someone local who charges fairly.
Why this exists
The standard arrangement at most garages assumes you can drop a car off at eight in the morning and pick it up at five. For a lot of people that is simply not possible: one car in the household, work the other side of the county, children to get to school, a van that is the business.
So the assumption is reversed here. Unless you would rather bring it yourself — and plenty of people do, and are welcome to — Erdi comes and gets it.
How it works

Text your postcode and registration
Say whether it runs and drives — that is what decides whether it can be collected or needs recovering, and it saves a wasted trip for both of you. A photo of a warning light or a voice note of a noise is usually faster than describing it.

Agree a time and a price
Inside 5 miles the collection is free. Outside it, you are given the figure for the trip up front. Either way you get a collection slot and, where the job is a known quantity like a service or a cambelt, a fixed price too. If it needs diagnosing first, you are told what the diagnostic costs (£45, refunded against the repair) before he sets off.

He collects
From your driveway, your work car park, your site or your yard. Leave the keys with whoever is in, or arrange to hand them over — whatever suits. The vehicle is insured and driven by Erdi himself.

You approve the work before it starts
The written quote comes to you by message. Nothing is touched until you reply. If something else turns up once it is stripped, he stops and rings you.

It comes back
Returned to the same place, or somewhere else if that is easier. Old parts in the boot, invoice matching the quote, paid by transfer, card or cash when you take the keys.

Distances below are approximate road miles from the workshop at BA4 4JT. Anything at 5 miles or under is collected free, provided the vehicle runs and drives. Everything further out is still collected — text the postcode and you get the price for the trip before you agree to anything.

Bristol and Bath
Both are well outside the free radius, and both are collected from regularly anyway. The reason is arithmetic: the labour rate here is £60 an hour against £120–£180 at a city franchised dealer. On a cambelt or a clutch, the saving is several hundred pounds and the collection charge is a rounding error against it. Text your postcode and you will have the figure in a few minutes. Fleets and multiple vehicles
If you run vans, this is usually the arrangement from the start — vehicles collected on agreed dates so you are never short-handed, and returned the same day where the work allows. See vans and fleet maintenance.
What Erdi can’t do
He is a mechanic, not a recovery operator. If the vehicle will not drive at all, it needs recovering rather than collecting — tell him that on the phone and he will either arrange it or point you at someone local who can, at a fair price. Being straight about the limits is part of the point.

Where is MB Auto Ltd based?
MB Auto is at Unit 1 Millbrook Depot, Yelling, Mill Lane, Shepton Mallet, Somerset BA4 4JT — just off the A37 between Shepton Mallet and Oakhill, in the hamlet of Downside. Erdi also collects and delivers vehicles across the Mendips, Wells, Frome, Midsomer Norton, Bath and Bristol.
Do you cover Bristol?
Yes. Bristol is about 22 miles from the workshop and Erdi regularly collects from Bristol, Keynsham, Whitchurch, Brislington, Bedminster and the south of the city. Because the workshop is out in Somerset rather than in a Bristol trade unit, the labour rate is lower — which usually more than covers the trip.
Do you collect and deliver the car?
Yes. If the vehicle runs and drives, collection and delivery is free within 5 miles of the workshop — Erdi picks it up from your home or workplace, does the work, and brings it back. Further out, and still running and driving, call or text your postcode and he will price the trip before you commit to anything. If it will not drive at all it needs recovering rather than collecting, and he will say so and point you at someone local.
How quickly can you look at my car?
Most vehicles can be booked in within a few days, and urgent problems — a van off the road, a car that will not start, a warning light before a long trip — are usually looked at the same week. Call or WhatsApp 07846 050457 and Erdi will tell you honestly when he can fit you in.
How do I pay?
Cash, bank transfer, or card on the reader in the workshop — whichever suits, paid on collection or when the vehicle is returned to you. Cash is king and always welcome. There is no charge for a quote, and no deposit for ordinary servicing and repairs. Larger parts orders may need paying for up front, and Erdi will say so at the point of quoting.
